Hampstead Village

Of all of the assignments I think Hampstead was my favourite place to see. There was something about the area that really drew me in. I went on a gloomy, dark, cloudy day; the weather just seemed to fit the area. I’m sure it is just as nice when it is warm out and the sun is shining, but I loved the way it looked with the church and the dark clouds in the background. Normally walking through a graveyard isn’t something I would spend my time doing but it was a good time walking through the graveyard in the rain. As Hillary and I were walking out of the graveyard and away from the church we must have looked like we knew where we were going because an older man asked us about which graveyard were the new one and which the old one was. While walking through Hampstead I fell in love with all the houses. I loved the way they all looked and I loved the different colored doors that they had. They were all so cute. There were also houses that I would not have expected to see in London. While most of the houses where similar to ones I have previously seen there were a handful that almost looked like they could belong in America. By the looks of a lot of the houses you could tell that people in the area were wealthy. They seemed almost out of place from the ones surrounding the area. The whole village was so much different than Central London. It was all much more calm and leisurely. Although I didn’t go into the Fenton House I really like the yard and the area around the house. The garden and the surroundings were gorgeous. The old brick of the house reminded me of home. I also really liked the outside of Admirals house. I loved the white outside with the dark navy blue/black trimmings.
Along with the houses showing peoples wealth you could also tell by the way they were dressed. As it is Londoners dress nicely but the people walking around Hampstead were dressed even nicer. Even the kids walking around were probably dressed nicer than majority of America.  You could tell shops along the streets were expensive. I also noticed that there were a lot of older people in the area.

I would have really liked to sit in the park and read and listen to music however since London was showing its true colors and it was raining it wasn’t exactly an ideal way to pass the time. Hopefully there will be another nice day before I have to leave so I can get the chance to sit in the park and relax.
